Casting call: Spotlight on....Men Over 30

After the rappers and the ladies; now on to the third group of people we’re hoping will audition for our production of In The Heights! Not everyone in this show needs to be able to dance...

Next up to bat… one of the Rosarios – meet the owner of the cab company, and a fellow entrepreneur, the Piragua Guy! These roles are suitable for men who are interested in less dancing.

KEVIN ROSARIO – Playing age: 40s

Married to Camilla, father to Nina and owner of Rosario Car & Limousine. Stubborn, hot-tempered at times and can be quick to act without thoughts of repercussions. Here, he reflects on his relationship with his own father, and his devastation at his inability to pay for his daughter’s education.

PIRAGUA GUY – Playing age: 30s +

Walks the hot and humid streets of Washington Heights; selling piraguas (flavoured ice shavings) to earn a living. Mr Softee is his nemesis. A nice cameo role where the underdog triumphs over a big business franchise – all told in a song and reprise! The Piragua Guy is also involved in many of the bigger numbers.
